My company has just begun a project where there's a requirement that we use Qt for the UI. We have everyone in place to move forward - but I can't for the life of me find any freelance programmers with Qt experience. Other requirements C++ as the principal requirement, with experience developing C++ applications on Debian Linux systems. Any ideas? I have 2 recruiters looking for me but nada. We are Vancouver, Canada based but the person could work remotely.

I am from Germany and have developed C++ Applications in Qt3 and now in Qt4 both under Linux and Windows. I am programming in C++ since more than 4 years and know some programming patterns like Singletons, Factories, Plugins etc.
I used Debian extensivly some time ago, but since 2 Years I use Gentoo at home. But i think im still quite comfortable under Debian. (But never created .deb's or anything in that regard)
If the project you are referring to is not too big (my free time is somewhat limited), i would love to work with you!

It's important that the candidate's experience is with Linux and that he's either in Western US or Canada I think (same time zone) since this project is so collaborative.

I'm in the Western US and have experience in Qt and Linux (and Solaris, FreeBSD, Motif, Xlib, etc). I am currently in the market, but am looking for a permanent position. See my website for Qt software I have written.

Hi, Sarah -
That's somewhat ironic, since I'm having a huge difficulty finding Qt jobs! On any of the job boards, anyway.
I'm available. I live in St. George, UT, but can be on-site for inception of project. Have no impediments to travel. 5yrs experience w/ Qt in very large molecular modeling project.
I'll send you a PM with my contact information.
thanks,
rickb
