Job Purpose:
Septentrio is bringing several new GNSS receivers to the market. The need for creating common interfaces with a proper SW architecture that can talk to different receivers is a need in the GUI department. Users of Septentrio receivers rely on the graphical interface not only for monitoring but also for controlling the receiver in an easy an intuitive way.
We are in need of a SW engineer passionate about graphical interfaces and user applications with experience in SW architecture, which can help Septentrio in writing reusable and portable software.
Accountabilities:
You will write modules for Graphical User Interfaces, which will be shared among the different applications in the GUI and Tools department.
You will implement the re-usable modules in communication, decoding and graphical layer which can be shared within several graphical interfaces.
You will help in the maintenance and improvement of the existing Graphical User Interfaces.
You will make sure that the code can be ported to different platforms (Windows, Linux and Windows Mobile), trough implementation of hardware abstraction layers.
You will bring Graphical Interfaces into a level of high quality and performance to create exiting products next to the Septentrio receivers.
You will perform usability test within the different user applications in order to improve the intuitiveness of user interfaces.
You will help in the creation of other applications (some graphical and some command line), which help in post-processing, control or monitoring of Septentrio receivers.
You will manage release and pre-releases of GUI and other SW applications.
Job Profile:
Ideal candidate:
Experience in developing user interfaces, and with motivation to develop state of the art software mixed with optimised, robust SW and creative applications.
Experience with programming in C, C++ and Java (C# and Qt is a plus).
Experience with multi platform programming in Linux and Windows (Windows Mobile is a plus).
Experience in creating modularised code which follows an specified architecture (API’s or SDK’s knowledge is a plus).
Enthusiasm to program in teams of 4 to 5 engineers, according to a set of guidelines agreed upon within the team.
Experience with the whole life cycle of a software product: requirements, specification, design, implementation, unit testing, documentation.
Experience with software management tools: version management, build, code purification, issue tracking, documentation extraction; knowledge of code coverage is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor, Master In Electrical or Industrial Engineering, Informatics or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
