Lead C++ Engineer (Qtopia)
Company Description: Quickoffice is the leading provider of mobile office document software for Symbian and PalmOS mobile devices. We are backed by one of the oldest and most prestigious venture capital firms in Silicon Valley, with a mission to become the dominant provider of business productivity software on mobile phones for Mobile Business Professionals. We have an exciting and immediate opportunity for development lead superstar to take our mobile office development to the next level – your contributions will make an immediate impact. This position will be located in our Plano, Texas offices.
Job Description: We are looking for a highly skilled software engineer to join our Linux/Qtopia development team developing next generation mobile software. The position is for a lead developer with at least 7 years experience developing software. The position requires advanced software analysis and design skills.
Expertise in developing GUI application software on Qt or Qtopia is required. Experience developing for a mobile platform is a plus.
A qualified applicant will be a motivated individual who is a self starter and can work well under little supervision. We are building a close knit team of developers who work well together. You must be a strong communicator, both written and oral.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Bringing the Quickoffice suite to the Linux/Qt platform.
• Developing and assuming ‘ownership’ of the Linux platform applications.
• Providing mentorship and direction to Linux platform engineers.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
• Requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree a plus but not required).
• Exceptional C++ skills with at least five recent years of experience.
• Requires a command of object oriented methodology and design patterns.
• A “take charge” and “get it done” type of individual.
Also Required:
• Experience in the lead development role in an off the shelf commercial quality software product.
• 2+ years of experience developing applications on Qt or Qtopia.
Nice to have -
• Qt 4.0 experience
• Qt/Embedded experience
• In-depth understanding of the development of a commercial or open source word processor, spreadsheet, or presentation application.
