Title: Manager of Database Development
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Pipeline Trading Systems (www.pipelinetrading.com) is a rapidly growing electronic marketplace for large block institutional equities trading. Experience:
Ideal candidate has more than 5 years of proven experience including:
o Data warehouse design and implementation
o Experience implementing custom ETL solutions.
o Strong PERL, Oracle experience
o Postgresql, Business Objects Experience a plus
o Familiarity with NASD regulatory reporting (OATS) a plus
o Candidate should have a working knowledge of the equities broker/dealer operations, data, participants and work flow
o Candidate should also have significant experience with the software development process, including change management and controls
This is a hands-on managerial position will have the following responsibilities:
o Manage all staff reporting to the position so as to effectively recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities.
o Liaise with other departments in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant activities
o Throughout development, Manager ensures the support for the software configuration and build infrastructure.
o Effective communication and collaboration is essential to the Manager's success.
o Develop effective strategies and plans for existing and new products
o Plan, schedule and implement projects and deliver products
o Provide progress reports for all projects and ensures timely and accurate reporting
o Provide team with ongoing technical and application training
Key Responsibilities:
o Development of production data warehouse from requirements through all phases of the development process
o Integrate data from multiple sources into common data architecture
Required Education: BA or BS and SQL technical training, advanced degree preferred.
