Default Contest 2008 category decision

Hi folks,

I'd like to participate to the Contest 2008. But I have serious problems to categorize my application. What could be the worst, if I categorize it wrong, if I do not hit the real meaning of the category I set?

Thanks a lot!

Thomas

At worst the entry will be rejected and you'll have to resubmit

Maybe you should describe your project here and people will help you determine the category.

Well ok, so that shouldn't be a problem.

It is a graphical user interface for source code indenters/beautifiers/formatters with a live preview feature, so you can see how your code will be changed by each indenter parameter.

So to some point it has something to do with collaboration, because a consistent code style is needed there. But it doesn't hit that category completly.

It might also have to do something with automation, since there will be a mass file/directory indent function integrated (still has to be done). Hmm, but I am not sure whether that is the meaning of "automation".

Maybe newcomer is the best category for it.

I didn't intend to use this place for advertising, but a closer look to the app could help to find a category for it, where it will fit in. So please have a look at it: http://universalindent.sourceforge.net/

Thanks a lot and greetings to all guys joining the contest!

Thomas

I think that Automation fits. Also proyect manager, but it is an automation application, it do tedious task for you.

Hi all!

I have the same problem. What category I must choose for "distributed computing" software?

Please help,
Drew.

"Automation" looks like a good guess on the first glimpse... But it depends what the software actually does.
