Qt designer Vs Typed code

Hi Friends

Just want to know, for complex qt application (having atleast 40+ forms), what the hard core developers prefer to write the qt applications between Qt designer or typing the code directly for the interface design/development ? And what are the advantages and disadvantages of both methods ?
