Hey guys, I'm pretty new in the Qt area. I was wondering if I can do such things such as automatically pause the game if ever a call/text/alarm goes off.

Apparently you can receive a signal in your application if the status of the "phone line" changes, using XQTelephony API, see http://www.mobedu.org/Qt_for_s60_mobile_extensions.pdf. I suspect there are similar APIs for every system event.
