Thread: Excel Alternatives

    Default Excel Alternatives

Do you know some alternatives to Excel? I'm fine using Excel for all my reports and charting requirements. However, there are times that Excel is not reliable especially for emergency meetings. I need something more advanced and automated that will meet my immediate needs for charting and presenting data. Feel free to share any related software that you have in mind. Thanks.

Interesting! I never thought there's an excel counterpart.

Yes. There is. I have made some inquiry on our existing provider and they mentioned about a solution on centralized reporting. I have yet to see whether this is really what I am looking for. I'd appreciate some other suggestions though.

I use OpenOffice from the Apache Foundation. Free, can read most Microsoft Office files, and isn't going to hold your documents hostage unless you renew.

If you want an online solution, then maybe Google Docs might work for you. I wouldn't use it for anything that you wouldn't want Google to read though.
