Default Qt compilation for Mac using Win (standalone)

    Hi all,

I've been trying to find directions for compiling my Qt programs for Mac using a Win XP machine. I've heard this is possible and that I need to compile Qt itself from source code first. I do not know how to compile Qt so that it starts popping out Mac programs using my XP machine. Could someone point me in the right direction? Are there instructions posted somewhere? I'd be interested in compiling programs so that they become standalone and don't need any supporting files to execute.

    Thankfully, Eric

download the QT lib/package from trolltech web site and the MinGW for the c++
    install them
    and them qmake name.pro
    make
    etc

it should work (off course you need the QT source to compile )

If you want to use advanced IDE you can look at the eclipse install below

    http://www.qtcentre.org/forum/f-inst...-xp-13362.html

    hope this help

I've heard that you can create a what's called "Universal Qt" on your computer that allows you to compile programs for both Mac and PC by simply altering the pro file (http://doc.trolltech.com/4.4/deployment-mac.html)

    Questions:
    1) Can you build "Universal Qt" for a PC? How? Do you have to compile from source?
    2) Can this "Universal Qt" be used to make static (standalone) applications that use plugins?
    3) Is making "Universal Qt" easier from Mac or PC.
