Default Compiling wih phonon on windows

I was attempting to use phonon for audio previews in my application but I can't even get the examples to compile. I've installed the Windows SDK, the DirectX SDK to be safe, and run the command it says to setup the environment: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.1\Bin\setenv.cmd.

None of it seems to make any difference because I'm trying to compile the 'musicplayer' example and I also get the most undescriptive error ever: collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

All my info came from: http://doc.qtsoftware.com/4.5/phonon-overview.html

Any help as to what I'm missing would be greatly appreciated.

Did you configure and rebuild Qt after installing the dx sdk? Naturally Qt itself needs to be built with phonon support turned on.
