Question Issues Installing Qt 4.5 64-bit X11 on Fedora 10

I downloaded the 64-bit X11 OpenSource Qt 4.5 SDK installation package which came as a .bin file. I changed the permissions just like the download page said to and then I tried to execute the binary file like the page said to as both my user and then as root. My terminal window told me "cannot execute binary file." Why can I not run the binary file when I followed the directions listed on the download page? This is a Fedora 10 on a notebook with a Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB RAM. Thanks for your help.

    Try "sh ./downloadedfile.bin".

I just discovered I downloaded the wrong Fedora ISO and only have the 32-bit version of Fedora 10. So should I install the 32-bit version of Qt instead of the 64-bit version so it matches the OS, or does that not matter since my processor is 64-bit? Thanks again!

If you have 32bit libraries in your 64bit system then this should be enough. If not then you need to install a 64bit version.

Thanks. I am new with this whole 64-bit and 32-bit thing. I will give it a try and if it doesn't work, then I will download 64-bit Fedora or 32-bit Qt.

I get the same error logged in as myself and as root. "cannot execute binary file". Any other ideas. I might just download the 32-bit libraries and install those with configure and build like I have done in Solaris before.
