After a lot of work, I finally installed Qt 4.3.4 using nmake and Visual Studio 2008 express in Windows XP. After all of that, I decided that I need the phonon addition that Qt 4.4 has, so I want to upgrade to the release candidate.

Is there anything that I need to know about upgrading Qt? Is it a bad idea to start my project with a release candidate? I assume this installation process will be similar to Qt 4.3.4...

I just wanted to ask because it took me many days to install the previous version.

Thank you for your help!

Anna

Hi Anna,

I suggest you wait until a few more hours. Qt 4.4.0 is coming out for public tomorrow. Then you'll be able to build the stable version of the library. Yes, the installation process is similar, just be prepared that it takes much more disk space to build.

Thank you very much! I've been waiting a week, but couldn't figure out when it was coming out, and was just going ahead with out the proper release. I'll wait tomorrow! Thanks!
