SDI app with list control

I am trying to create a SDI app with a list control that resizes with the application. So far the best I have been able to do is to put a Dock Widget in the window and add the list control programatically, but it only resizes horizontally (not vertically).:confused:

How do you add that list exactly? Do you use layouts? Also can you attach a screenshot that illustrates what you want to achieve?
