Drawing Rich Formatted Text with QPainter

We have a report that was custom designed with QPainter and am able to add images and draw lines and draw simple plain text, but if i wanted to draw text that was stored in HTML from a QTextEdit, or any other widget that has the ability to display rich text, how would I go about rendering that with the QPainter.

(FYI this is being printed directly to PDF by setting the QPainter's device to a QPrinter)
