View Full Version : QTWebKit, out of control Javascript CPU usage

Hello.

I've traced this problem down to JavaScripts. My test case is just www.google.com. On Every web browser I've tried it loads fine and doesn't do anything funny.

When I load the My QT browser, the CPU spikes to 40-50% and stays there. This also happens in the QT Demo browser

When I set JavaScript to disabled, the page loads fine and doesn't hog CPU.

Youtube, and some other sites with JavaScript perform similarly, CollegeHumor.com however, uses some extensive Javascript but doesn't go bananas on my CPU.

Running QT 4.5, Windows Vista 32 bit. Compiling with GCC with mingw.

I haven't really been able to find much on the subject after some 10 odd hours of googling and hunting through bug reports. Is this a configuration (or otherwise known) issue? Or should I forward this along to TrollTech as a bug report? Sorry if this belongs in the Newbie forum.

Thanks.
Tom D
