QTreeWidget horizontal scrollbar

I have a QTreeWidget of 1 column. The QTreeWidget is in a QDockWidget. When a child node contains a long text string, the horizontal scrollbar is not enabled so I have to resize the dock widget manually. What options do I have? Thanks.
