View Full Version : Can creator's help get a window of its own?

Hello out there,
since I am quite new to Qt I am using creator's integrated help a lot.
Is there a way to separate it from creator's main window? Then I could move it to my second monitor and have it visible while staring at my code in despair. :)
I am aware that via F1 another help window appears to the right, and I experimented with enlarging this to the right, giving one enormously large window. But in the setup I have here this is not nearly as useful as having 2 truly independent windows.
Just wondering ...
Or - just occurred to me - can the help system be started as a separate process?
Best regards

I know this is weird solution. ;)

1. Open your qt folder, you will see a folder named "doc".
2. Take this folder to another PC.
3. Open index.html and surf the html help. ;)

Thanks guys.
@yogeshgokul Nothing wrong with using "weird" solutions if it's he only way.

@wysota "Qt Assistant"? What's that supposed to be? Never heard of it. :)
I know that newbies are a PITA - in the domain where I am expert we have them, too, and the only thing which helps me tolerate them is remembering that I started out this way, too. :)
You're really a great help around here - much appreciated.
Best regards

It's that most newcomers don't see the world past Qt Creator. "I want to do this in Creator, I want to do that in Creator".
