Window turns grey in Ubuntu while executing the application

Hi all,

Ubuntu turns grey the window of my application like it was not responding but it's false,
This problem appears when I start some communication of the application through the serial port. The communication is working right,

Why does ubuntu sees my process like if it was not responding?
