Caneda is an QT4 based open source EDA software focused on easy of use and portability. While in the short term schematic capture and simulation is the primary goal, in the long term future, PCB and layout edition will be covered. The software aims to support all kinds of circuit simulation types, e.g. DC, AC, S-parameter and harmonic balance analysis.

Status: In development

PS: I'm not the developer. I just thought to let you guys know about this one.

Guess I'll still be using LTSpice (http://www.linear.com/designtools/software/#Spice) for quite a while...

I find it strange that when when developing a program aimed at simulating circuits, that calling the simulator itself is not one of the first things one would try. The fancy stuff (syntax highlighting, help system, settings dialog, ...) can always come later on.

Marc

Actually, Caneda was supposed to be the new gui for Qucs (http://qucs.sourceforge.net/). Qucs gui is written in QT3 and Caneda was supposed to be the new Qt4 gui with the Qucs simulator

Once the development started, Caneda went the separate way. That is why it doesn't have a circuit simulator yet. A new simulator is currently being developed. Keep an eye on the project.
