overriding phone profile

Hi All,

I am trying to make an alarm application. In it I want to add a feature which would mute the alarm if the phone profile is set to silent.
Can anyone please lemme know if this is possible. If possible, then how can I implement the same.

Ok, is there a way by which i can access the settings of current phone profile? The application is for nokia n8.

please someone help...
