View Full Version : NS Plugin widget

There used to be an NS plugin widget to ease construction of Netscape-styled plugins. That looks like it's been dropped in Qt4?

I'm laying the groundwork for a cross-platform project that I would like to be able to run standalone, as well as a component of a web-browser. I can use Ax on Windows, but that won't help on Mac or Unix (at least, not last I heard...).

The NS plugin framework was, at one point, pretty universally supported by at least the mainstream browsers. Any one know if this has changed? Is it hopelessly outdated or is there something that has superceded it (that still works cross-browser?)

Any info/thoughts (and maybe a pointer to a succinct doc or two) appreciated.

Thanx,
rickb

If looks as if you will have to pay for it since Qt 4 : http://www.trolltech.com/products/qt/addon/solutions/catalog/4/Utilities/qtbrowserplugin/

Hmm. I note they explicitly exclude Mac from support.

The NS protocol wasn't that difficult. Have to see if Safari supports it and roll my own, I guess.
