I have an interest in buying a Chinese cell phone, but it has an operating system I never heard of. The operating system may not necessarily be the problem. The phone is packed with features, but what my purpose in getting the phone is specifically to use its WiFi capabilities to make telephony calls via the internet using a telephony program such as SKYPE, iConnectHere, JoiPhone, or any telephony software which will work through this phone.

Here is a link to the phone.

My question is take a look at the phone specs and give me a guess if you think that a phone with this operating system can make internet telephony calls? Besides having this phone as a media player I would also like to have the capability of using it at WiFi Hotspots to make telephone calls.

Please send me a copy of your posted reply - I have an extremely difficult time of getting back to forum cites, I belong to too many. just use my profile name @ yahoo.com and I will receive your posting.

Thanks

This phone is a MTK(MT6235) Platform: The Operating System is "Nucleus" and it is not an Android, iPhone, Symbian, or Windows OS platform. I spoke to one of the sales agents in and he informs me that this phone will connect via WiFi similarly as these other OS platforms do. Although I seem to be limited to java applcations, if there are any for the Nucleus Operating System. Does anyone know of Java applications that may work with this phone?
