So, following the pyside installation instructions, I installed python, QT, and pyside, and it works.
However, I can't work out whether I actually needed to desktop QT. It seems like the dlls pyside needs are included in the pyside install, and indeed if I rename my qt install folder pyside continues to work. So do I actually need QT installed?
