qt 4.7.4 or qt 4.8 qmake macx-xcode create invalid xcode 4 project - OS Lion

i have a working qt 4.7.4 or 4.8 app and i am trying to generate an Xcode 4project

i run qmake -spec macx-xcode without issue or warning

but when i try to open the generated project, Xcode 4 crashes with ASSERTION FAILURE


Does anyone has been able to create an Xcode 4 project from a .pro, if so how?
