I'm running Ubuntu/Kubuntu 6.10
I had to re-install Qt as I must have messed up mine as I was doing something else.
I downloaded. and installed Qt-4.2.2
When I try to compile the examples in the Trolltect /..../..../ directory I get the following message:
pete@newCompaq:/usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.2.2/examples$ qmake examples.pro
Failure to open file: /usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.2.2/examples/Makefile
Unable to generate makefile for: examples.pro
pete@newCompaq:/usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.2.2/examples$ I am able to use the "qmake foo.pro" on my own programs, but obviously I am missing somthing on the re-installation of Qt.
Help would be most appreciated.
thanks

Isn't that the same problem than in this thread (http://www.qtcentre.org/forum/f-installation-5/t-no-xshape-support-note-3324.html)?

User "pete" still doesn't have write permission to /usr.. :)

No, not -xshape, I remembered that. I just forgot permissions.
I have been away for a month or so and have forgotten most everything. Don't get old. It doesn't pay.
Thanks.

Actually, it does pay. I have lots more money now than when I was young and a poor starving student. :D
