The Advanced User Interaction team at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. (MBRDNA) is looking for an Entry-level Software Engineer to join us in developing cutting-edge automotive user interfaces on embedded platforms.

In this dynamic, multi-disciplinary team you would work closely together with UI/UX Designers, UI/UX Engineers, other Software Engineers to tackle a variety of challenging software engineering topics. This is a full-time position located at the MBRDNA headquarters in Palo Alto, California.

The essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Implement highly interactive user interfaces and cutting-edge graphics effects for embedded platforms in close collaboration with our designers, UX engineers and human factors engineers
-Define and document platform-independent, supplier-relevant design exchange formats and software patterns, which can be reintegrated by our tier-1/tier-2 suppliers or other internal development teams
-Develop tools and scripts that improve the workflow of designers and UX engineers, and enable them to create importable design and UI assets
-Ensures adoption and consistent implementation of software patterns by creating examples and tutorials, coaching, conducting code reviews, etc.
-Monitor trends and technologies relating to software implementation of user interface and graphical effects on embedded platforms

The ideal candidate would need the following skills and abilities:
-Strong self-driven desire to learn new technologies and techniques and proven ability to quickly adapt to new programming languages, frameworks, and platforms
-Well-organized, with strong analytical skills, great attention to detail and passion for implementation
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross functional design and development teams

Education and Experience Preferred:
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
-Successful track record implementing user interfaces for embedded platforms with modern UI/graphics frameworks such as Qt, iOS, Android, OpenGL-ES 2.0, etc.
-Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
-Open to international travel
