So I wanted to build a interactive experience and I have been using “game” to discribe it.

During my research I came across this post … http://qt-project.org/forums/viewthread/19084 in which sierdzio and Andre seem to think that Qt is not the best option for a 3D ffirst person interactive experiencee.

I would like some advice on if it is a waste of time and energy attempting my project using Qt.

Thank you,
Bill

I would say that there is little Qt offers to aid 3D graphics (apart Qt3D, if you want it) but there is nothing that prevents you to use Qt with external 3D engines as long as they are OpenGL compatible. It all depends on what you'd like Qt to help you with.
