What is good practice concerning styleguides?

When writing the styleguide for our applications, i noticed that there are two main approaches concerning the implantation of the styleguides. You can either:



Put all the styles in the top most object(i.e. QMainWindow)
Put the style on every object individually


I was wondering which way is a better use

It doesn't matter as long as it fits your purpose. Usually you'll want both.
