java script function

hi ,

i have created qml gui....in this file i wrote java script as a function....but it is only enable inside the mouse area...how to use the javascript outside of mousearea...

like with a property of another element you refer to it by using the other element's id, then dot, then function name
i.e. the function is like a method of the element you put it into
