Key purpose of the job:
To assist the R&D department’s production and supervision team in the smooth running of projects. To support teams by ensuring an accurate and efficient flow of information, communication and tracking of results.

About the department:
The R&D department develop ground-breaking software to ensure that the studio remains at the cutting-edge of global VFX production, so this is a truly critical role.

The department, one of the largest R&D teams in the industry, supports multiple film projects in parallel, from initial design through on-set supervision and production to post-production, by delivering pioneering tools that enable our artists to tackle increasingly complex challenges, with stunning results.

This role will suit a confident production assistant looking for the next step in their career.

Needs to be:
• Excellent communicator
• Organised
• Calm and personable under pressure
• Able to take a pragmatic approach to prioritisation and achieving goals
• Fast learner of new technologies and workflows
• Experience in a similar role(s)/environment(s) e.g. games, software, IT, VFX, is highly advantageous

Needs to do:
• Work with development supervisors and leads to plan, track and report on progress
• Manage one or more team’s schedule/backlog and ticket queue
• Communicate with other teams and departments to keep the work on target
• Facilitate daily ‘stand up’ meetings to promote communication within the team and identification of any roadblocks
• Keep senior management informed of any roadblocks for the team
• Attend team meetings and create notes
• Help manage documentation for the team

Needs to know:
• Technically capable, with a willingness to learn new tools is essential
• Familiarity with bug tracking software, e.g. Jira, is advantageous
• Familiarity MS Project or other scheduling software is desirable
• Familiarity with Agile management techniques is desirable
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, are advantageous
• HTML / Wiki skills are advantageous
