View Full Version : Why doesn't "qt-opensource-linux-x64-5.6.2(1).run" respond when I double-click on it?

I want to install Qt-5.6.2 on RHEL 6.6. In order to do that, I answered the privacy questions (do you agree with the LGPL license terms and so on) and I was allowed to use "Qt Open Source". This led me to the following page:

https://www.qt.io/download-open-source/

I selected the "Offline Installer" by going to "5.6x Qt Offline Installers" and then clicking on "Qt 5.6.2 for Linux 64-bit (653 MB) (info)". This produced an executable in my "Downloads" folder. I went to "Downloads" and double-clicked on "qt-opensource-linux-x64-5.6.2(1).run" but it did not respond. After several attempts, I don't understand why this executable is not doing anything.

Please advise me for this matter.

You probably have to set the X flag on downloaded file using chmod command.
