Dateedit with calender popup always taking date ""1/1/2000"

I wrote a customitemdegate by inheriting QItemDelegate.
Setting this delegate to QTableView.
All working fine except when i am clicking column having dateedit, the date changed to 1/1/2000.
i am also using calender pop up in dateedit.


please suggest.
