• ICS Announces the ICSNetwork, an Online Training Center for Qt Developers

Bedford, Mass. — Integrated Computer Solutions today launched the ICSNetwork™, an online training and resource center produced for Qt® developers. The new network will release a series of recorded webcasts focused on teaching advanced techniques for developing with Qt. The first webcast, An Introduction to Qt, is available for download now at www.ics.com/icsnetwork.

The ICSNetwork will feature expert speakers from the ICS Qt consulting staff and prominent authors from the Qt community, such as Johan Thelin, Jasmin Blanchette, and Alan Ezust.

A few of the topics to be featured on future ICSNetwork webcasts include:

    • An Introduction to QThreads
    • Getting Started with Qt Embedded
    • The GraphicsView Framework
    • An Introduction to Design Patterns, with Alan Ezust.

The ICSNetwork is sponsored by Prentice Hall Professional (www.informit.com/ph), publishers of several essential Qt technical books including “An Introduction to Design Patterns in C++ with Qt 4,” by Alan and Paul Ezust, “C++ GUI Programming with Qt 4, Second Edition” by Jasmin Blanchette and Mark Summerfield, and “Rapid GUI Programming with Python and Qt,” by Mark Summerfield. “We are very pleased to be able to support the ICSNetwork in their work to educate developers on Qt,” says Stephane Nakib, Marketing Manager at Prentice Hall Professional.

The ICSNetwork is also sponsored by Apress (www.apress.com), publishers of “Foundations of Qt Development,” by Johan Thelin. “We’ve recognized the importance of continued Qt education, and the valuable training offered by the ICSNetwork. We’re very happy to be working together,” says Julie Miller, Marketing Product Manager at Apress, Inc.

The official ICSNetwork forum is hosted by QtCentre.org. Join the ICS Qt experts there to ask questions about the current webcast and share ideas about future topics. "QtCentre.org, the leading forum for engineers that use Qt as a foundation for both open source and proprietary applications, welcomes the ICSNetwork to its site," said Johan Thelin, an administrator of QtCentre. "We believe that the hosting of the discussion forums for the ICSNetwork will provide an additional source of information and knowledge to the vibrant community surrounding Qt."
