    New to Qt?

  • Qt Quickstart in Gothenburg

Today one of the QtCentre team members - Johan Thelin - hosted the first Qt Quickstart event in Europe. The facilites of XDIN was used to host a training session and a mini-fair.
The event started with registration and breakfast for all the invited guests. With the guest was the special invitee - Peter Simonsson from the Kivio/KOffice project. When every body had arrived Anders Melbye, Ole Lappen and Johan Thelin ran a quick introduction of Trolltech and XDIN and the QuickStart concept.

The training session was handled by Stian Thomassen and Jason Barron. It went smoothly, even though there where a few hickups with the screen resolution that they had to use to get the video projector to work. Designer looked harder to use than it really is.

After the training all the guests where given lunch while the hosts where doing a mini-fair. The fair was nice, showing laptops running Qt 4 in both Linux and Windows. There was also a Green Phone to try out - you could call it some sort of European premiere.
