Qt 4 ver. for Ubuntu 8.04.1(problems building Stellarium)
Hi,
I have Qt 4.3.x on my Ubuntu 8.04.1 system, I tried building the star catalog program Stellarium 0.10.0, their wiki page assures me that the latest Qt 4 in the Ubuntu repository is ok. The build says *not* i.e., I need at least Qt 4.4.1... What is a nubie like me supposed to do here? :o
Thanks much.
Henry
p.s., the package name is 'libqt4-dev*' (this is a literal quote), & doing an 'apt-get install' says that I have the latest version. I think there is a way around this in the Synaptic Package Manager... but I do not have a clue how to configure this for that.

In Hardy's backports-repository you can find Qt 4.4.0. If Stellarium needs something newer than 4.3, you should try this at first. I guess you can enable this repository in Synaptic, but as I don't really know this tool I can't tell you exactly where ;)

Hi Rexi,
Thanks, I actually found the backports repository yesterday... (looking for something else)... Now if I can just find my bookmark...
I may need to come back on this, but hopefully not.
