fontconfig in linux x11

Hi,

can somebody tell me how to use "QFONTCONFIGDATABASE" in linux x11 version of QT.

I have read somewhere that I need to configure fonts to QT through "fontconfig".

how do i do a " fontconfig ", can somebody help me out in this front ?
