Default Qwt plot + grid huge pdf file

If I create a plot and then create a pdf the size of the pdf file is around 44k
But: if a put a grid on xy axis, the size of the file is 2Mb!!!!
    Why?

Guess your grid consists of non solid lines and you find code for ever dash/dot in our pdf file.
The easiest way to find out is to look into the pdf file.
