Unable to diplay the text on LCD

hi,
i ve deployed an example of addressbook in the arm-device.Everything is working fine but i am unable to display the text that i type in the lineedit or textedit.The keypad events are generating as per the key press and key release.i checked it by using the eventinstaller.What could be the reason that i am not able to display the text that i am typing?
