4.5 + video playback on windows

Hey there,

I'm on Windows XP.
I've got the 4.5 SDK: binary release installed.

Now I want to play a simple AVI video inside my program.

To get Phonon working I have to :
- Redownload 4.5 source package.
- Download DirectX SDK and Windows SDK.
- Recompile Qt library using Visual studio C++ compiler.

Do I really need to recompile everything to play a simple video ?

Is there a simpler way ?

Yeah blame Microsoft for not releasing the source code so that you can be able to use other compilers
