Default Unexpected and transient asymetry in the simulator display

I have used a form and vertical layout to place buttons. The view should be symmetrical and this is so for the Maemo and touch screen simulators. However, on start-up in portrait mode the view for the non-touch simulator is not symmetrical (see attachment, top left). It is symmetrical in portrait mode start-up (bottom) and in fact becomes symmetrical if the device is rotated to portrait mode and back (top right). What will happen on the real device? On other pages vital data is left out on the right hand side of the view. Note: I am using Qt 4.6 beta.
