    Default Where is Qt Creator in 4.7.1?

    I had tried to install 4.7.2 beta (Ubuntu), ran into errors, uninstalled and downloaded/built 4.7.1 (the current stable release). But I can't find Qt Creator anywhere within it--

    $ find . -name *creator*
    returns nothing except some unrelated doc files. It's otherwise uninstalled and I can only get 1.3.1 via apt-get. In past releases, it's always been within the primary qt directory. Does anyone know where it is/how I can get it?

    QtCreator is not part of Qt and has never been part of Qt.

    From the Qt download page:

    Note: Qt SDK 1.1 Beta is now available which includes final versions of Qt Creator 2.1, Qt 4.7.2 and Mobility 1.1.1 and covers both desktop and mobile.

    The current Qt SDK includes:

    Qt libraries version 4.7.0. (change notes)
    Qt Creator IDE version 2.0.1 (change notes)
    Qt development tools
    So I'm not sure what you mean. Installing from a binary always ends up bringing you to QtCreator automatically.

    Edit: Ok, never mind, I got it from the download page where it asks you to choose LGPL or Commercial license--you just have to scroll further down. Given the above I'm surprised any extra downloading was required thoug

    If you download the SDK, it will have Creator, but if you download Qt 4.7.2 that is the framework only (so you need to download Creator separately).

    That's the weird thing, I did download 4.7.1... And on this instance (I've gone back and forth between 4.7.2 and 4.7.1) there was no QtCreator, and I compiled things by hand... the only possibility seems to be that I got mixed up somehow (perhaps unpacking the wrong file, from earlier when only the 4.7.1 framework was available and I downloaded that). Anyway, at least I found out where to get QtCreator on its own now. Though now Qt can't find the Qt header files ("QtGui/QMainWindow: No such file or directory" etc.)...

    No, that's not true.

    Qt SDK is Qt + QtCreator (+ MinGW compiler on Windows).

    I see, so Qt is in version 4.7.2 whereas Qt SDK is version 1.1. fair enough. Regarding the second pt., in my experience the last page of the installation wizard always asks you if you want to start QtCreator.

    It only asks you about it if you install Qt SDK and not if you install Qt. You have downloaded Qt now so it doesn't ask you about Qt Creator. Understood?
