4.1.1 to 4.2 upgrade, newbe question.

Does 4.1.1 need to be uninstalled before installing 4.2? If not, should 4.2 be installed over 4.1.1 or in a separate folder?

No need to uninstall. I'd suggest installing the 4.2.0 in a separate folder (as it will if you use the default path which is /usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.2.0).
