how to create a virtual drive?

Hello,

I would like to programmatically create a virtual drive, similar in appearances to the drive shown on desktop when inserting a usb drive, or a cd.
Except this drive would appear when running the program, and disappear when the program is exited.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?
