tab through date field

I have a application which I have multiple date fields on my screen. For whatever reason, I am unable to tab through these fields. I use a datefield widget and have the date format display set to "MM/dd/yyyy" and even default the date to QDate::currentdate. I use this on many other windows and the tab functions works properly, but this window does not work. Any setting I should be looking for? Any idea's?

Just a little more clarity on this issue, the field is mapped from a database field to a mapper widget. Can anyone please help?
