Exclamation "Remove file..." deletes files no matter what you do

Help, I have a major coding disaster:

I was removing files from a project and did not check "delete file permanently". But now they are all gone! nowhere to find on my hard-disk!

I am using Creator 2.3.1 on OSX 10.6.8. Does anyone know how to get the files back?

    Thanks
    Markus

Even though Qt Creator deletes files "permanently", from the OS point of view they still _should_ be in your computer's trash can (or whatever OSX calls its place for deleted files).

    I did a:

    find / -iname "*deleted-file*"

on the entire drive. only the .o and moc_ show up - nothing else.

    this is very bad
