Hai, I would like to know the difference between the widgets, dialogs and main window. As they all seem to work same in a application. If they differ in some aspects plz list them for reference and plz cite some tutorials to get good understanding about there functionality.

Widgets are all the user interface elements of an application like dialog,buttons,menus,main window etc and yes they are different in some aspects from each other but they are all widgets.
to give you an example of a difference between main window and a dialog,a main window is always or you can say in most real world application the parent widget for other applications and its only parent can be the desktop of the operating system but dialog on the other hand is always a child to other widgets like main window but it can be a parent for other widgets too in rare cases.
