Load png resource into a visual studio project

I am working on win7 with visual studio 2008.

I want to load png files as icons in my C++ - Qt project.

I want to make these files as resources.

I don't have the Qtcreator plugin.

can someone explain to me please exactly how to define the resources and how to load them into my program?
