Question Qt 5.0.2 Source Components - what is this?

At the beginning I'd like to say hello to everyone. I'm new here and I'm beginning with programming int qt.

I've just downloaded Qt 5.0.2 release and during the installation I see unchecked these options:
    Source Components:
    - Essentials
    - Add-Ons: qttranslations, qtsvg…….

I can’t find out what is this for. Can anyone tell me what exactly this is and give me any 'usage scenario'?
I’m still a qt beginner and I would be very grateful for any answer.
Thank you in advance, and please, forgive me my language skills.

    It's the source code.
Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.

You would need the Qt source if, for example, you needed to build the MySql or other database plugin.

I thought it may have something to do in case of static linking "out of the box", but I wanted to make sure.
I know i have to build it on my own, like with previous releases, to achieve static linking.
Anyway. thank you very much for help and forgive that "vary lame" question.
