Creator not responding

Now I am past the user issue, a new issue has reared its head with Creator. Creator starts up just fine. When I attempt to load a .pro file, the CPU usage for Creator will go to ~25% and stay there for at least 20 minutes until I kill the process. If I attempt to create a new project, the new files are created properly but Creator drives the CPU again to ~25%.

Creator was working fine yesterday up until I attempted to import a project that I got from my associate. It has not worked since. Yesterday I was running 5.1.1, then I loaded 5.2.0 to see if that solved the problem(environment reset accordingly). It didn't. Same behavior with both versions. Design from MSVS10 seems to work just fine. I am running XP Pro and have rebooted my machine. Does anybody have an idea about what is happening or have another suggestion on how to track this down.

I assume you are on a quad core processor. Qt Creator 3 is not supported on XP in its default configuration because the requisite graphics support is not there. If you are not intending to do QML work then there is a workaround:

Qt Creator does not support Windows XP.
Workaround: Disable ‘Welcome’, ‘QmlProfiler’, QmlDesigner’ plugins

You could also install an earlier standalone QtCreator to get a version not dependent on ANGLE. I do not know if you can build you own Qt Creator using the OpenGL version of Qt.
You will need to use the OpenGL build of Qt5 if you intend your applications to run on XP.
