Can anyone tell me where I need to start read about cd/dvd image burning?

To my knowledge, Qt doesn't provide anything that abstracts CD/DVD burning, so you'll likely have to google Operating Specific APIs how to do that.
I write the best type of code possible, code that I want to write, not code that someone tells me to write!

How about opening and getting content from inside iso images?

Same answer I'm afraid, nothing in Qt that I'm aware of that will assist when it comes to CD/DVD burning and/or reading/writing of ISO's, etc.

Maybe look at K3B, it is a CD/DVD burning application written in Qt.
